Parent Coaching: Empowering Parents with Compassion and Expertise
Navigate Eating Disorder Recovery with Confidence
Finding Hope in Overwhelming Times
Discovering that your child has an eating disorder can be disorienting, anxiety-provoking, and overwhelming. You may feel lost, unsure of what to do, and yet, the urgency to help your child recover feels all-consuming. All you want is for your child to feel better, but the path forward seems impossibly complicated.
I’m here to help. My role is to guide and support you through this process, offering tangible tools, resources, and a unique plan tailored to your family’s needs.
With compassionate coaching, we’ll empower you to return to what you do best: being a loving parent.
Hi, I’m Edie!
With over 15 years of experience in treating eating disorders and collaborating on complex cases, I’ve developed a compassionate and practical approach to supporting parents like you. I’m a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and a Fat Positive, Health at Every Size®-aligned parent coach, committed to creating inclusive spaces for families navigating challenges related to their child’s eating disorder, body image issues, and overall mental health. My work is rooted in curiosity, humility, and respect for your family’s unique experiences.
Using my experience as therapist, and pulling from techniques like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness, Gentle Parenting and Positive Psychology, I view parent coaching as a way to empower parents to create safe, recovery positive home environments for their children.
Navigating Treatment Options with Confidence
When it comes to exploring eating disorder treatment options for your child, the overwhelm can feel paralyzing.
Options from residential treatment (RTC) and partial hospitalization programs (PHP) to intensive outpatient programs (IOP), outpatient therapeutic care, medical care, and dietetic support—there are so many paths to consider. Add in the decision between virtual or in-person care and navigating different therapy modalities (FBT, CBT-E, etc.), and it’s easy to feel unsure about the best choice for your child.
That’s where I come in—as a parent coach, I’m here to provide expert guidance to help you through this process.
You’re already doing an incredible job prioritizing your child’s safety and well-being. Now, let’s focus on finding the best approach for their care.
Having worked with countless families and adolescents in my private practice, I deeply understand the value of tailoring treatment to meet each client’s specific needs rather than relying solely on standardized approaches. Together, we’ll explore options that make sense for your family and create a path that truly supports your child’s recovery.
