Meet

Natalia Michaelson, ASW

She/Her

Ever feel like you don’t fit in or don’t belong?

Maybe you’re the black sheep of the family—critiqued, judged, or perceived as the outcast. Or you’re the “golden child” whose needs are dismissed because everyone assumes you have it together and that you’ll end up fine. Maybe you’ve been met with rigidity when you needed flexibility, harshness when you needed softness, or judgment when you needed compassion.

There might be spaces where you don’t feel welcome. Oppressive systems and people in your life will tell you who you should be, what you should do, or how you should feel. Navigating the complexities of race, culture, and identity can be challenging and overwhelming, especially for those in the BIPOC community. But I’m here to support YOU as you navigate this difficult terrain.

Working together…

My approach to therapy is trauma-informed and incorporates psychodynamic, holistic, and feminist perspectives. I am trained in brainspotting, a cutting-edge trauma therapy. I’m also grounded in cultural humility and anti-racism, so I’m constantly learning and growing to better understand your unique experiences and perspectives… and adapting to your particular needs, concerns, and goals.

We’ll go at your pace, but I’ll challenge you along the way! I truly believe that the relationship with ourselves is the longest and most important relationship we will have. Let’s unpack how your experience has damaged your relationship with yourself and your body. On your path to recovery, I’ll give you the tools you need to accept yourself with compassion… and to thrive!

You can do this!
